I woke up a little more excited then I normally do on Wednesdays, I was off up to London again for my first bloggers event. It was being held at a new salon on Kings Road in Chelsea called Duck and Dry.
I had already planned my outfit so I knew what I was wearing so I didn't rush up, I had chosen a pink shift dress and simple over sized blazer. I grabbed my Louboutins out of my wardrobe to add a statement to a rather sensible outfit.
I decided to wear a smoky eye for the evenings event, as it was a bloggers event I wanted to show off what I could create. Plus I am now a massive fan of a smokey eye, just think 2 months ago I was pretty much a virgin.. of the smokey eye.
Blazer - H&M
Dress - Matalan
Heels - Christian Louboutin
Bag - Celine
I was catching the 2 o'clock train and meeting one of my best friends at the station, I decided I would ask for a plus one to take her, It was her birthday and I honestly can't think of many other people that supports me like she does. She's an angel.
As soon as we arrived at Victoria I knew exactly where I was going to take the birthday girl... Humming Bird Bakery. Every birthday girl needs a MASSIVE slab of cake and this cake shop is the mother of all bakery's.
After we enjoyed the mountain of sponge and lemon icing we deciding that it was the perfect time for dinner. I know what your thinking... but we needed a little something extra and the restaurants in London just need to be dined in. Plus now I know the amount of Prosecco I was plied with it was certainly a good idea.
We went to Carluccios, had Peach Bellini, and a meat and olive sharing platter. YUM
We also lost track of time so rushed to Kings road, we started practically jogging then gave up and jumped in a cab.
Now let me tell you a little about Duck and Dry, from the outside it looks exactly as you would envision a salon should in Chelsea... but inside had the wow factor.
Pretty isn't it, I don't know why but I didn't get a picture of the bar, they were serving prosecco and cocktails like they were water. I think it's such a good idea to have a bar in a salon, whats better then getting your hair done with your girls and sipping on bubbly. Perfect. We were also supplied with popcorn and duck cake pops. CUTE.
I had almost forgotten about getting my hair done as I was observing all the posh Chelsea girls, and looking what the other bloggers had decided to wear. I had a quick flick through the look book and chose the bow dry I fancied for the evening.
Mirror shot.
I had the loveliest man doing my blowdry, he was so quick and dramatic, I love it. I haven't actually ever been for a blowdry as I'm more of a hair up kind of girl for a special occasion but this made a very pleasant change. It was very bouncy and in fact as I'm typing this a day on it's still bouncy now.
I will definitely be going back there if I'm ever in Chelsea for a try at a different style.
Not only have I had a lovely eve, my friend had a great birthday and we both got goodie bags.... everyone loves a goodie bag, even more so when they are filled with hair and beauty treats.
I can't wait to try all the products out, especially the back combing brush. It has it's own case, soooo fancy.
I can't wait for the next one...
I'll keep you posted :)
