A girly Wednesday

Wake up and make up - that is certainly how today went. I got out of bed and headed straight for my make up trolley. The sunshine outside was shining still so I decided on a fresh summer glow. I chose all out my shimmery, summery, pinks and peaches.

While I was in a pink mood, I picked some figs from the fruit bowl and had those for breakfast. They are so delicious this time of year, a mixture of kiwi and peach. YUM.

Baking was next... as promised. I picked the most appropriate apron I could find. Mary Berry was my go to baker for the perfect recipe.

I decided on Lemon cream cupcakes - they looked amazing. I gave them a my own twist, cutting them in half and making them macaroon-esque.

While they were baking in the oven I prepped the icing, then had a cup of green tea in the sunshine.

Here are the finished cakes... they went down a treat.

I thought the hearts gave them a little something extra. 

Refresh make up time, I fancied some lilac hue's for tonight's girls night. Now I know you are thinking yellow and lilac? Hummm, but I'm really into colour clashing at the moment and I think it works.

My lovely friend bought me this gorge yellow scalloped number for my birthday, I got so many lovely things from so many lovely people! 

I paired it with a scalloped skirt and cute little tassel boots. It's a bit more casual then what I normally go for but I was off to a girls night in, so I was happy to be comfy. 

I like it because it almost looks like a dress. Scallop edge is one of my favourite details.

When I arrived I had a delicious salad waiting for me, you can tell we have a big event this weekend. We are all trying to stick to healthy dishes. 

We sat, giggled, chatted and put the world to rights.

Friends are the most important ingredient in this recipe of life. 

Tomorrow is Thursday, you know what that means... only 2 more days until Saturday. Thats 2 more days to get sorted for one of my best friend's wedding. I'm so excited.
