It's National Lipstick day!

Lipsticks, who doesn't love them? Girls love them, men love them. They can add a my lips but better look or a sexy statement to any makeup look. They say eyes and lips are the first thing you notice about a person, whether that's true or not I don't know but for me I do find myself noticing if someone has gorgeous eyes or luscious lips, but hey, maybe that's the makeup artist in me?

So as it's National Lipstick Day today I thought I would show you my favourite lipstick/liner combo at the moment and why I think it's perfect for Summer, Winter, Day or night.

The best thing to do when looking for your perfect go to lipstick/liner for all year round anytime of day is to think about what you feel most confident wearing and what suits your look and complexion.

Now, I really love to wear a wear a golden/bronze shadow on the lids of my eyes and swept under my lash line, for nights out this look works with a bright, nude or dark lip however during the day in any season I find it looks best with a 'my lips but better nude/brown tone'.

Now lets talk complexion and finding the perfect shade for you... I'm a bit of a Fake tan addict. I guess I have been since 18ish, I wouldn't say I'm the shade of terracotta but I definitely always look like I've just arrived back from holiday. I just prefer it that way, everyone looks better with a tan right?

Keeping this in mind I decided that the kind of nude I needed was a rich, warm tone that would suit the warmth in my hair and skin tone and the makeup I usually wear. Grey tone nudes look amazing on paler skins in my opinion and pinky nudes are great for the not so confident make up wearers as they will look super natural.

So after hunting for several years for that perfect combo... I have been using the same one for over a year and it's definitely my most used double act. Both are MAC products...

Lipstick - Satin - Mocha
Lip Liner - Subculture

I chose a satin finish lipstick as I find them more wearable for during the day - little tip: use the lip liner completely over your lips this will help to hold on your lipstick for along as possible and give the illusion of really full lips with even coverage.

Get those lipsticks out girls!

I'll keep you posted :)

All Hail the Beauty Blender

You know me, I just can't help myself. I love to try out the new beauty must haves, I just have to know if I NEED them in my life.

So like most there I was begrudgingly spending £20 pounds on a 'Beauty Bleander' which is really just a make up sponge, yes a sponge. But it does claim to blend in your make up flawlessly and gives you a fresh, no make up - make up look that every girl desires.

Guess what... they aren't lying. The rumours are true, it's now a must have in my life let alone my make up collection!

Here's some of the looks I've been creating this week using this gem.

Foundation - Dior Star
Primer - Smashbox Photofinish

Not only have I found it great to blend in my foundation and primer but I think it's really great to contour with as it has a pointed end for precision and the soft round edge to blend and bring the look altogether. It really is a dream tool when used with the right primer and foundation!

I know what your thinking... what makes it so different to any other sponges that you can buy for a lot cheaper, well I kinda thought the same until I felt it. The quality is amazing and it so so soft meaning that it really can blend and give you a second skin.

Just a little tip... before using your 'Beauty Blender' make sure that you dampen it with water so it blends your make up in beautifully. I happened to choose the black one, the original is pink and I think there is white one available too. My advise is to go for black as you can really make sure your cleaning the sponge properly, everything shows up on black.

I have lots of Weddings coming up this summer so I can't wait to use  my new special weapon on those beautiful brides.

I'll keep you posted :)
