A lucky break and a hell of a Hen

I woke up at 5.30 am to my alarm, now normally I would hit the snooze button at least twice, but not today. I jumped out of bed excited for my first peek at working in the industry and a weekend full of girly fun ahead of me.

I caught the train, the tube then had a brisk walk to Rankin Studios in Kentish town. When I arrived there were a few people waiting outside so I introduced myself. They turned out to be the stylist and hair stylist on the shoot, The make up artist I was assisting then turned up shortly after followed by the models.

We walked in to the studio, and set up in a cute dressing room, I LOVE the lit up mirrors, I can't wait to get my own place so I can have a whole room of them!

We set up and had a briefing on the look the stylist wanted for the shot, she wanted the morning after a rave theme, Think multi-colour pastel extensions, dreadlocks and glitter smeared eyes.
The photographer and producer then turned up and it was time for business.

I was asked to prep the skins for the models, and paint the girls nails dark to go with the make up theme.

I wont have the final images until they are released so until then you'll have to wait I'm afraid!

Here is the mood board from the wall of the make up room that the head make up artist used for inspiration.

Knowing I needed to be comfortable but still wanting to look stylish I wore my grey skinny jeans, black over sized Tshirt and comfy sandals.

I also chose to wear a really simple make up look, so I would have to worry about getting hot and bothered and it smudging or having to reapply.

Tshirt - Matalan
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - Zara

The shoot was taking place in a quirky property in north London, so go with the theme. I really enjoyed everything about Friday, it's definitely confirmed I want I knew already. It's the job for me, It didn't even feel like work.

It was soon time to go and meet the Hen at the station and catch the train to Brighton, I met her with a Lola's cupcake and we drank Prosseco on the way.

Friday night was a girls night in PJ party, with too much drink and pizza. Of course there was a stripper no hen would be complete with out watching the bride flattened on the floor with a bare butt in her face.

Saturday started early with delicious chocolate brunch feast at Choccy Woccy Doodah followed by a funny cocktail class.

I decided one a bright yellow shift dress with my leather gillet and my usual black sandals - they just go with EVERYTHING!

I finished off the look with a subtle smokey eye and pink lip, perfect.

I made this one.... The jammy Bastard.

After the cocktail class me and my best friend headed to MAC as we both had 6 products empty that we could swap for a free lippy. I got a gorgeous shade called 'Film Noir' it's a really dark drown, I think it's going to become my go to lippy for this autumn so watch out for it!

We then headed home and started getting ready, now I'm very sorry but I didn't actually get a picture of my mint playsuit I wore but I did get a make up picture, It was all a bitof s rush being the organiser!

I chose to make my look all about the eye with big lashes and shadow, I actually really loved it. I was a little annoyed a I left my darker shade of foundation at home so I found it hard to match my face to my fresh fake tan, Oopps rooky error there,

I am actually really loving my dark hair.

We went for dinner at Dirty Blondes I had ribs to start and a Burger and sweet potato fries for main, there was no room for desert!

YUM.

After dancing for hours, by 3am my feet were killing, there is nothing better then a good dance after a few too many drinks.

I had a lovely weekend,

I would say check out my Sunday style, but it's been pretty non existent today, I have spent the day in and out of napping in bed with my boy and watching movies. So you will have to wait for tomorrow for another new look.

I'll keep you posted :)

Time for change

So on Tuesday this happened...

I'm not 100% how i feel about it yet so I shall let you know when I know. I wake up in the mornings very confused looking into the mirror. Change is good right?

This week as been so busy for me because I have been planning one of my best friends Hen doo for this weekend. Organising 20 people isn't as easy as it sounds! I'm so excited though it's going to be fun!

I also got my first job this week assisting, I was made up when I saw the email and jumped at the chance. I just need to get my foot in that door. So here I am on a Thursday at almost midnight knowing I should be sleeping ready for my first day of assisting, but no I'm blogging. I can't wait to share my looks from this week with you...

It's definately started to get a little colder out, so the felt hats are out and even my skinny jeans made an appearance this week, I'm getting really excited for winter now. Bring on the boots, fur and coats!

Oh I almost forgot to mention...

This came through the post today, very happy but very dangerous!!

All in all a very exciting week, I have spent today at a wedding dress fitting with my friend that is getting married soon, and we stopped at Bluewater for some lunch and a quick browse. We went to Browns and both had Camembert... Yum.

I can't show you this dress, but it's gorgeous take my word for it!

Oh and then this.... My favourite!

I really need to sleep now, I have spent an hour cleaning all my brushes so they are fresh for tomorrow, and packing for the hen weekend... I'm exhausted!

Don't worry though I'll be back on Sunday with a fun, fashion filled post!

Wish me luck for tomorrow, I'm off up to London again!

I'll keep you posted :)

A Brighton Date

Monday, another day I have been looking forward to for a while. A day in Brighton with my best friend. Do Mondays get much better?

I set my alarm early so I had time to sort my hair out, It's being a bit crazy at the moment I'm feeling a change! I chose a soft look today as it's a daytime look. I used a smokey grey to line my eyes and a khaki/brown shadow to define my sockets, with my new lip gloss from Tanya Burrs collection - Let's travel the world. I love this colour so much, it's a really subtle orange shade.

It felt a little fresh outside although it was sunny so I chose a statement blazer I've had for a few seasons now and added my go to basics. A grey vest top, black leather skirt, my favourite black clumpy heels and of course my new love - my yellow Zara bag.

I find this bag perfect for the daytime, sometimes I get fed up of carrying a bigger bag so it's nice for a change.

Blazer - Asda
Vest - H&M
Skirt - Topshop
Heels and Bag - Zara

After a long freezing cold train ride for some reason as soon as the sun shines they whack up the air con, I really needed a warm drink so i grabbed the yummiest hot choc from a organic stall at the station on the way to meet my date for the day.

Excuse the lippy!

I met my best friend and then was guided into the Lanes for breakfast, we went into this posh brasserie and sat in the window not realising that we sat next to what seemed like an important work meeting, there's us catching up, chatting and giggling. Trust us!

Now I know your going to think try something different, I was going to and I almost did but I stuck with my gut and went with Eggs Benedict. I'm glad I did as they were better then Bill's... sorry Bill!

We headed for a potter around the weird and wonderful shops in the Lanes and found ourselves at the vintage shop hunting through all the men's oversized shirts. They will be dresses on us, but that's just how I like them! I brought 2 for £10, Bargain! So watch out for those, they will be featured soon!

We then strolled past one of these Bubble shops, this particular one was called Pearls, I have been intrigued but these for ages so I convinced myself to try and see what the fuss was all about. Ewww it was sick, it was so artificial tasting and popping tiny bubbles in my mouth was weird, I'm not a fan I'm afraid. I'll stick to a cupcake or frozen yogurt next time!

We went to MAC and I gave my friend help in which products to try and buy, I think w went a bit over board but I convinced her it would change her life forever... Opps!

After another hour wandering around the shopping taking in all the autumn/winter styles I was time for my second surprise. She knows me well, very well. I'm a sucker for a afternoon tea. Especially when it involves champagne. We headed to the grand for the loveliest afternoon putting the world to rights.

While I was at the Grand I received a notification from VERY on my Instagram telling me I had won their Tanya Burr Competition, i was rather chuffed and will be receiving make up in the post shortly from them. Exciting!

After the train journey back I was pretty knackered so I've got in bed to chill and open some presents she had given me for my belated birthday. As I said she knows me well! I can't wait to add my frame to my wall of frames and also use this cute bowl!

Tomorrow I have decided it's time to get my hair done, I don't know what I'm having done, that's always the fun part!

I'll keep you posted :)
