A Saturday in Snakeprint

Snakeprint... it's a funny one, sometimes it screams out to me Kat Slater and other times it can look soooo chic! But I always find myself drawn to it, whether it's a scarf, boots or as I have found recently a cute T-shirt dress.

Now let's talk about my love for the T-shirt dress, I'm obsessed, I have collected quite a few in this last year and I find I'm always grabbing for them with it be with tights for a casual daytime look or killer heels and a fluffy clutch for evenings with a oversized coat. T-shirt dresses are so underrated, they definitely deserve more credit!

So whilst I was browsing the net as I come to do a few times a week I found myself flicking through the Missguuded dress section, which I'm rather fond of as they are always so on tend yet affordable, meaning you can only wear your dress a few times and not feel too bad about it, or wear it to death and know you have got a bargain... like this snakeskin print monochrome dress I came across. At £15, it was too hard to resist!

Now I don't usually do posts of just my outfits, but I really enjoyed doing this one, so I think it's going to become a regular thing! Plus, I do love sharing a bargain with you all.

I pair this little beauty, with really simple accessories, a Leather jacket, Oversized fur stole, Tights, Black boots and my Céline bag.

What an easy, comfortable yet fashionable look, Misguided have great other T-shirt styles, I love their Aztec monochrome design too, so much I brought it in both the black and the white!

I'm off to London for a week now for work, so my posts may be a little sparse so I apologise in advance.

I'll keep you posted :)

Just Jessica's Dupes: MAC Brow Set

Brows, they are kind of a big deal at the moment aren't they? And it makes sense - they frame your face and help define your eyes. Now some people can take it way to far and I find myself being distracted talking to them with pencil sharp, dark harsh brows, thinking please blend and brush - that's just the make up artist in me talking! But each to their own, some people love the ultra strong brow look, it's just not for me, I would just look awful. I'm more about the defining and filling in the gaps naturally!

Lots of people ask me how I get my brow shape but still keep them looking natural here is my secret...

Firstly always start by using small strokes to create tiny hair like line with a pencil, or gently brush powder or gel through for your desired fullness. After I have done either of the three depending on what look or product I'm trying out I always feel the need to reach for the Brow Gel, It just finishes the look off perfectly and brushes the brows into shape, sets them and lasts all day.

. If you don't tend to fill out your brows that's fine, this gel will work great to sculpt your natural brows all day with adding any colour.

I have always been a fan of MAC Brow Set - normally preferring clear to coloured gel, that was until I came across the Rimmel London Brows this way clear gel... it's exactly the same!

The MAC gel is clear I swear, it's just because I use it so much after I have filled in my brows the colour comes off on the wand, it still comes out clear though!

MAC - Brow Set - £13.50
Clear

I have used this Gel for over 2 years now, here are some pictures of my wearing the MAC gel.

Rimmel London - Brow this way - £3.99
Clear

This is my make up look today, using the Rimmel gel.

Discovering this has been such a life saver, I have a MAC pro card so I do get a discount on MAC products but even with the discount the Rimmel London gel is under half the price, I will definitely be stocking up on this baby to tame my brows!

The MAC tube and wand is slightly bigger so it's good to keep in my makeup trunk while the Rimmel London tube is smaller so is perfect to pop into my make up bag on the go!

I love this bargain of a product I wish I bought a few, ladies' if you want lush brows, this is for you!

Let me know in the comment's below if you would like a step by step post on how to get the perfect brow's!

I'll keep you posted :)

Blue Suede Shoes

Shoes, shoes, shoes I honestly am addicted. Especially statement heels, because lets face it life is far to short to wear boring shoes.

On Valentines day morning I was woken with a card, flowers and a big Zara box laying at the bottom of the bed, Heaven. I do trust my boys fashion choices so I was so excited to take a peek at what he had chosen for me. I opened the box, to another box inside... a shoe box!

Inside were these gorgeous electric blue lace up heels, how beautiful are they... he knows me well.

They are very Kim K and look ever so classy, I wore them out on Valentines eve with a LBD and then for dinner dressed with jeans and  a roll neck. Perfection.

They are a size 5 and fit perfectly so they are definitely true to size, like most Zara shoes. They are great quality and are very comfy as the heel isn't crazy high!

They really do make a great new addition to my shoes collection for SS15.

They say give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world...

Hope you all had a great Valentines Weekend whatever you did.

I'll keep you posted :)

Bake with me: Naughty Nutella Heart Bites

Doesn't everyone love Nutella? There is just something beautifully indulgent about it. It reminds me of my childhood, every time I have it it makes me feel warm inside. I can even admit that I eat it off the spoon from time to time when I'm craving a chocolate fix.

Chocolate and Strawberries fro me come hand in hand with Presecco and romance. Chocolate is an aphrodisiac after all!

My boy loves a sweet treat as do my friends who I am seeing tonight so I decided to use my baking skills and bake them a sweet treat to show them all how much I love them.

As usually its a really easy recipe and tastes delicious, you will have every one falling head over heels in love!

Ingredients:

100g Butter
100g Caster Sugar
100g Self raising flour
2 Eggs
1 Tablespoon of milk
1 Tablespoon of Baking powder

Nutella
200g Strawberries

I used a Love heart shaper that I got from Aldi for £2, you can get similar from any super market especially at the moment.

Now is a great time to turn on the oven to 170!

Add all the Ingredients other than the Nutella and Strawberries to a mixing bowl

Whisk together until a nice smooth but thick consistency

Gently put a spoonful of mixture into each of the heart holes

Bake for 10 minutes, then leave to cool for 20 minutes

When the cakes are nice and cool add a small dollop of Nutella to each

Cut heart shapes into the strawberries, its really simple. Just cut off the top then slice a small V at the top of the widest side and then round the edges

Push the heart into the Nutella so it will sit upright

Serve how ever you wish, I served mine like this...

Such a cute and yummy idea for a Valentines snack or treat.

I'm off to spend the weekend with the ones I love, after all I'm a sucker for love. I don't actually know what I'm up to tomorrow it's a surprise just the way I like it.

Wishing all you love birds and singletons a lovely day!

I'll keep you posted :)

My Five Flirty Valentines Style Idea's

Valentines Day, it is loved and dreaded by many. I am such an old romantic that any opportunity to have a little romance in my life I'm on it, I know there will always be people that say why not just show the one you love all year round and not just on February 14th and I totally agree but Valentines day will happen no matter what so you may as well join in on the fun, love and being extra romantic because well, who doesn't love, love?

Plus it means you can grab yourself some cute love inspired accessories and clothes, just like I have. I have been searching for a few pieces that I think are lovely without being too in your face IT'S VALENTINES DAY cheese.

If your heading out with the girls or on a hot date night I have found a little something for everyone to wear and feel good in.

Being a makeup artist I didn't think it would be right not to start off my five styles without a bold statement lip now would it!

The Very Valentines Lips

Red is always the obvious choice, and I will always love a bold red lip there is something very classic but sexy it brings. If your feeling a plain date night outfit or LBD for your girls night these lips will be perfect - just make sure you not kissing too much no lipstick is properly smear proof!

MAC - Relentlessly Red

If your wanting more of a subtle and pretty look why not go for a deep pink shade, it oozes elegance and effortless chic. It's also great if you want to wear a statement outfit and have more if a subtle look! Lip's are everything as far as I'm concerned!

Illamasqua- Eurydice

That LRD

I picked this one up from River Island and the fit, shape and quality is beautiful and is so comfortable perfect for a dinner date or party.
I love the cutout and strap detail making it a little racy to get their heart going, I paired it with a chunky knit as it's freezing outsize there is nothing worse then being cold and these cute lace up boots that shout 'look at my legs'.

Dress - River Island
Knit - Very
Boots - Zara

The Statement Clutch

I fell in love with the simplicity of the clutch, it is the most beautiful deep plumy - burgundy colour and is big - perfect to stuff all your makeup in! I styles this with skinnies and a chunky knitted jumper and gold heels to add some glamour. It's so subtlety valentines day related so it's perfect for the fashionista that just wants to give a nod to the day but make it no big deal.

Knit - Very
Jeans - Topshop
Heels - Zara
Clutch - ASOS

Those Sexy Shoes

I have been taking FULL advantage that fur and fluff is in, I absolutely love it. It is so cute and girl but so high fashion too. These were actually my Christmas shoes but when I saw them in my wardrobe I knew it was their time again. I have decided to wear them with a white simple dress and neutral coat making them to sexy pop of colour, add those beautiful red statement lips and your onto a winner!

Coat - Charity Shop
Dress - Very
Shoes - Missguied

The Romantic Accessories

It should always be about the little things and these ASOS earring are no exception! How adorable are they? Even if you wear nothing else Valentines day related but these they are the perfect Valentines day statement. I will definitely be wearing these all year round whenever I fancy it. They also come with another pair which are also Valentinesy too. Gorgeous!

Earrings - ASOS

Are you feeling sickened by all of this Valentines day mush or inspired? I'm excited to wear all of my pieces. I have a bit of an exciting week coming up this week but I can't share my good news yet, in the make up world stuff has to be kept hush hush, which a little frustrating but also very exciting to say the least!

I'll keep you posted :)

Just Jessica's Dupes: Chanel 148 Lipgloss

Glossy lips are so SS15, I always usually seem to steer away from them because it reminds me of being in year 9 at secondary school and using half a tube of lipgloss on my lips each day. But having discovered that lipgloss can be worn as a stunning added extra over lipstick or on its own on a daily basis for a lip plumping look I have started to reach for it most days.

Everything shinny always gives a bigger appearance, like wearing leather leggings or disco pants, they make your legs and butt appear curvier. As BIG luscious lips are so sought after at the moment I have been looking at ways to make mine appear bigger - not that I really need it, I was lucky to inherit quite a generous pair of lips but just like very girl, I like to experiment.

When I work with clients I always notice they generally want 3 things, perfect skin, long lashes and bigger lips. Well lipgloss is the easiest way to achieve the look of bigger lips!

One of my favourite lip glosses as always been Chanel's lipgloss in shade 148 - it's a really wearable pretty pinky/nude. I have been wearing it for years, it just so happened that when I was last in Superdrug I was snooping around Tanya Burr's Collection and found an almost identical shade... It's such a good dupe I prefer it to the Chanel!

Tanya Burr - Afternoon Tea - Top

Chanel - 148 - Bottom

Even the packaging is so similar!

 Chanel Lipgloss - 148 - £20.50

Tanya Burr - Afternoon Tea - £6.99

As you can see the Tanya Burr lipgloss is much more pigmented meaning you don't have to keep applying it. So it stays on longer, is less sticky and tastes much much nicer than the Chanel plus it's less then half the price, it's a no brainer! So if your looking for a every day gloss to emphasise your lips, or something to add extra ummph to a nude lip, if I was you I'd be going to Superdrug and grabbing yourself a Tanya Burr lipgloss, she has the best range of colours and they all have really cute names!

Just in time for Valentines Day ay!

I'll keep you posted :)
