A lucky break and a hell of a Hen

I woke up at 5.30 am to my alarm, now normally I would hit the snooze button at least twice, but not today. I jumped out of bed excited for my first peek at working in the industry and a weekend full of girly fun ahead of me.

I caught the train, the tube then had a brisk walk to Rankin Studios in Kentish town. When I arrived there were a few people waiting outside so I introduced myself. They turned out to be the stylist and hair stylist on the shoot, The make up artist I was assisting then turned up shortly after followed by the models.

We walked in to the studio, and set up in a cute dressing room, I LOVE the lit up mirrors, I can't wait to get my own place so I can have a whole room of them!

We set up and had a briefing on the look the stylist wanted for the shot, she wanted the morning after a rave theme, Think multi-colour pastel extensions, dreadlocks and glitter smeared eyes.
The photographer and producer then turned up and it was time for business.

I was asked to prep the skins for the models, and paint the girls nails dark to go with the make up theme.

I wont have the final images until they are released so until then you'll have to wait I'm afraid!

Here is the mood board from the wall of the make up room that the head make up artist used for inspiration.

Knowing I needed to be comfortable but still wanting to look stylish I wore my grey skinny jeans, black over sized Tshirt and comfy sandals.

I also chose to wear a really simple make up look, so I would have to worry about getting hot and bothered and it smudging or having to reapply.

Jeans - Topshop

The shoot was taking place in a quirky property in north London, so go with the theme. I really enjoyed everything about Friday, it's definitely confirmed I want I knew already. It's the job for me, It didn't even feel like work.

It was soon time to go and meet the Hen at the station and catch the train to Brighton, I met her with a Lola's cupcake and we drank Prosseco on the way.

Friday night was a girls night in PJ party, with too much drink and pizza. Of course there was a stripper no hen would be complete with out watching the bride flattened on the floor with a bare butt in her face.

Saturday started early with delicious chocolate brunch feast at Choccy Woccy Doodah followed by a funny cocktail class.

I decided one a bright yellow shift dress with my leather gillet and my usual black sandals - they just go with EVERYTHING!

I finished off the look with a subtle smokey eye and pink lip, perfect.

I made this one.... The jammy Bastard.

After the cocktail class me and my best friend headed to MAC as we both had 6 products empty that we could swap for a free lippy. I got a gorgeous shade called 'Film Noir' it's a really dark drown, I think it's going to become my go to lippy for this autumn so watch out for it!

We then headed home and started getting ready, now I'm very sorry but I didn't actually get a picture of my mint playsuit I wore but I did get a make up picture, It was all a bitof s rush being the organiser!

I chose to make my look all about the eye with big lashes and shadow, I actually really loved it. I was a little annoyed a I left my darker shade of foundation at home so I found it hard to match my face to my fresh fake tan, Oopps rooky error there,

I am actually really loving my dark hair.

We went for dinner at Dirty Blondes I had ribs to start and a Burger and sweet potato fries for main, there was no room for desert!

YUM.

After dancing for hours, by 3am my feet were killing, there is nothing better then a good dance after a few too many drinks.

I had a lovely weekend,

I would say check out my Sunday style, but it's been pretty non existent today, I have spent the day in and out of napping in bed with my boy and watching movies. So you will have to wait for tomorrow for another new look.

I'll keep you posted :)
