My top 10 Autumn lip picks

Well isn't this a little something new, it's something I have been thinking of doing for awhile because the most asked question on my Blog is normally 'where and what lip colour is that?' and I do get that, there is nothing more frustrating then LOVING a colour and not being able to find it.

So I have had a dig around my draws of many lipsticks and a picked out 10 that I always seem to be using this season. However I'm not promising that these are the only ones I'm going to use, they are just my favourite shades and textures at the mo. I'm a girl that loves a change, to mix things up a bit and to experiment. So for now these are what I have been using and loving these last few months and I shall continue until... I can find 10 lipsticks I love as much!

So here are my top 10, the prices all vary some are as cheap as £6.99 while other are a little bit mental at £37 but totally worth it.

Oh look I have even made a little hand swatch for you guys, so you can see extra clear, I'm good to you! As you can see I've kind of backed away from the matte lip vibe, not forever but just while gloss, gloss and even more gloss are in this season.

As you can see I'm enjoying lots of variation, which is key to a good make up bag/draw/trolley.

It's nice to have options and be brave with a bold lip or soft with a subtle lip.

Before we get started, here is a handy hint for getting luscious lips, EXFOLIATE. Who likes bits of flaky skin covered in lipstick? Plus you will find the application so much smoother, easier and lipsticks will stay on for longer! Bonus.

So I normally use LUSH's bubblegum lip exfoliate, which works magic on my lips and smells and tastes amazing! Not that I purposely eat it, being that I'm rubbing it onto my lips I can help it!

However in my last Glossy box I received this Ètre Belle Liplift peel so I decided to try this out, it doesn't sound as cute as the LUSH one, or taste as good. But it does work just as well.

I then use EOS products on my lips just to give it some moisture, you can get these of www.amazon.co.uk and also www.topshop.com I believe which is a new thing as they come from America and cost about $5 each. I fell in love with them in December 2008 when I brought one from New York and have been HOOKED since. Not only do they leave your lips so soft they also have all different smells! Heaven.

Yellow - Lemon
Pink - Strawberry
Green - Mint

Now let's talk Lipsticks, I'm going start with my newest and prettiest edition to my lipstick family...

1

Tom Ford - Sable Smoke £37.00

I love this not only because of the so 'in' nude colour, which is more on the brown side then peach but for its creamy moisturising texture.

I got this on Monday and I haven't taken it off, I've practically slept in it.

2

Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm - 230 complex £8.99

Now, I know it's very similar to the Tom Ford one above, but this is a more of a orangey nude, and also is not as high coverage. I like this for more of a laid back make up day or to accompany a smokey eye. Plus who can argue with the price!

Ps. It's not very matte!

3

MAC - Pink Plaid £15.50

Everyone needs a pretty pink n there pallet, this one is one of my matter lipsticks and I find if I don't apply lip balm before it can be quite drying. But with a colour that wearable who cares!

Looks lovely with a brown smokey eye and subtle pink cheeks.

4

MAC - Mocha £15.50

This is also one of my new buys, when I saw it it didn't really garb me until I put it on, it's such a great colour with a tan and is perfect for autumn. I find it looks great with any make up look. If you want something a little strong then a nude then this is your lipstick!

5

MAC - Flat out fabulous £15.50

This is just your average pink, it has deep purple tones that will suit all skin types and not being to bright easy to wear it day or night! The perfect lipstick if you want to wear a pink lip without feeling too girly.

6

No7 - Gay Geranium £9.95

This is easily No7's best kept secret, it's very similar to MAC's Morange but dare I say it... Better!
If you love a warm lip, or a bold bright lip go and get it! Boots sometimes give out £5 off vouchers for No7 too so keep your eyes peeled!

7

Illamasqua - Rockabilly £18.50

This is a much more cooler tone red then the NO7 one, and it's really moisturising. I was gifted this lipstick and when I looked at it I thought oh just another red, but no this one is different. I love this purply/pink tones in the shade.

8

Bourjois Rouge Edition - Velvet 01 £6.99

I have loads of reds, I have Chanel, YSL, Bobbi Brown and all the Mac's but I have to say this little Bourjois number is up there in the running. Now this isn't a warm tone red or a cool tone its just red. The kind of red every red lip lover needs. I think what makes me love this is the velvet texture on my lips, and it stays all day or night.

Another must have.

9

MAC - Film Noir £15.50

Not brave enough to wear black but want the dark lip look. Or is black to Gothic and cool tone for you? This little baby is perfect, it's warm chocolate colour is surprisingly flattering and is perfect for the autumn/winter season. I have to say it would even make it into my top 3!

10

MAC - Cyber £15.50

Yes, I know it's another MAC lipstick. I find MAC have the best variety and the price isn't bad either!
This is not for the faint hearted, it's dark very dark gorgeous plum/purple but I LOVE it. It's so sexy, I like to wear these dark colours with doe eyes. Clumpy mascara and a nice contour. A dark lip is such a good statement.

The only trouble is darker lips is you have to keep applying them, or just don't eat, drink, talk or move all day!

Well that's all, trust me I could go on and on and go through my whole collection but I won't. I need to save some you another rainy day!

I had the most exciting email yesterday, one that I have been waiting for, for over a month!

I will share with you as soon as I know whats what.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I'll keep you posted :)
